Project Staff

Marta Foresti is a Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London, UK, in the Poverty and Public Policy Group. Shei has a background in development policy, human rights and social research methodology. Marta’s current research interest include citizens’ voice and accountability, social justice and human rights, economic and social rights, action research and evaluation theory. Marta has a particular interest in the methodological dimensions of development and human rights research. She was responsible for developing impact assessment frameworks for Save the Children UK and Amnesty International and has undertaken research and evaluation studies of several UK and European social policies and programmes.She is the Rights in Action Programme Manager and has a background in development policy, human rights and social research methodology. Goran Hyden is Distinguished University Professor in Political Science at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He has published extensively on a wide range of issues spanning the interface between politics and development. His publications include Beyond Ujamaa in Tanzania (1980), No Shortcuts to Progress (1983), Governance and Politics in Africa, co-edited with Michael Bratton (1992), African Perspectives on Governance, co-edited with H.W.O. Okoth Ogendo and Dele Olowu (1999). As one of the principal architects of studies on governance, he served as Co-Principal Investigator of the World Governance Survey Project with Julius Court at the United Nations University, 1999-2001. Kenneth Mease is a political scientist and member of the Department of Economics at the University of Florida. He specializes in survey research and quantitative and qualitative data analysis. His substantive research interests include governance and democracy, public education, and political participation. He taught at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as Fulbright Scholar, 1997-98. He served as Senior Advisor to the World Governance Survey Project, 2000-2001. Kenneth Mease's CV
