The Trade Programme is ODI's centre for research, policy advice and engagement on trade and development. We provide informed and effective policy advice, built on evidence based analysis and practice.
Our programme looks at ways international support can assist and develop the capacity of developing countries, especially low-income countries, to integrate into the global economy, provide for growth and alleviate poverty.
The promotion of regional integration through trade agreements is increasing. We support the interest and participation of developing countries in negotiations, as well as looking at the origin and practicalities of regional groups.
A range of multilateral trade issues confront policy makers and people in poor countries. Our work looks at issues including WTO negotiations; commodity price shocks; trade and food security; finance and trade.
