ADB plans to launch a multi-year program (from mid-2011 to mid-2015) to tackle nontariff barriers (NTBs) in South Asia with specific reference to least developed countries (LDCs) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The program is made up of three components: (i) NTB surveillance and monitoring, (ii) upgrading and conforming to technical standards, and (iii) NTB resolution mechanism. This project will prepare a feasibility study that identifies the scope of the program and these three components.
