We frequently analyse data sets to establish how different variables can affect outcomes for different sets of poor people. This included analysis of:
- central tendencies;
- dispersion;
- relative magnitudes; and
- trends in variables of policy interest.
Recent work on the volatility of food prices and their implications, as well as on biofuels and their potential impacts on the poor, are typical of this type of analysis.
In addition, we carry out comparative analysis of the impact of different policy regimes on input and output markets for export commodity producers such as cocoa, coffee and tobacco, seeing how experiences vary across very different geographical contexts in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
