This iterative research approach is applied to the scoping of future development projects for development partners in the areas of: theagricultural research agenda; productive strategies for the rural poor; and urban agriculture.

This approach has the benefit of allowing organisations that commission development research to simultaneously empower, and benefit from the insights provided by, Southern research organisations and also to have confidence in the technical quality of the research output and the administration of the research process.
