Assessment, analysis and decision-making

This area of focus concerns the ways in which we understand crisis contexts and our impact on them – and how this understanding informs decisions about humanitarian responses.

Risk reduction and management

This area of focus views the humanitarian agenda from the perspective of risk and risk management. Risk analysis holds the potential to inform interventions that are preventive rather than simply palliative.
