The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) aims to help decision-makers in developing countries design and deliver climate compatible development. It does this by combining research, advisory services and knowledge-sharing in support of locally owned and managed policy processes. CDKN works in partnership with decision-makers in the public, private and non-governmental sectors nationally, regionally and globally. CDKN is managed by an alliance of organisations that brings together a wide range of expertise and experience: PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano, SouthSouthNorth, LEAD International, LEAD Pakistan and INTRAC.

Climate Funds Update is a website that provides information on the growing number of international climate finance initiatives designed to help developing countries address the challenges of climate change. Through independent research the ODI keeps it current and details: Where these climate change funds are being developed; What the funds support; The scale of the proposed financing; How the funds are expected to be disbursed; and what had been achieved so far.

Tom Mitchell is a Coordinating Lead Author on the IPCC report Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation (SREX). He is responsible for a chapter on national systems for managing the risks from climate extremes.

The objective is to refine a methodology and conduct a Climate Public Expenditure and Institutional Review (PEIR) that shows how climate change related expenditures are integrated into the national budgetting process, and to provide recommendations for their further integration in budget allocation and execution. The project uses Nepal (led by Neil) and Bangladesh (led by Merylyn) as case studies to test the PEIR methodology.
