Event bringing together people from the North and South who are aiming to make tourism work for the poor to discuss this approach. Participants include leading donors, development practitioners, private sector operators, non-governmental organisations and researchers.

Pro-Poor Tourism Workshop in the Dominican Republic

This workshop was hosted by ASONAHORES. It combined international approaches to pro-poor tourism, case study material from the Caribbean and considerable input and discussion from workshop participants about the issues and opportunities they face.

Presentation by Caroline Ashley, Gareth Haysom and Zeph Nyathi to the World Travel Market Meeting in London. It pulls together what has been learnt so far from the PPT Pilots and the way forward from here. It was one of four presentations given on the day.

Trade Linkages in Tourism: Piloting Pro Poor Tourism

This workshop was organised to bring together partners involved in the
programme: ‘Pro-Poor Tourism Pilots in Southern Africa’. At this point, with implementation underway at the sites and with one year to run, the workshop agenda focused on the practical issues involved in implementing PPT. The aim was for participants to exchange ideas and learn from each other by discussing progress and challenges, and to identify key issues for the year ahead.
