    Social protection and children in West and Central Africa

    Projects - November 2007 to June 2009
    This multi-country project focused on how social protection programmes can strengthen the realisation of children’s rights, and provided recommendations on a policy engagement strategy for UNICEF in the region. It also included a strong focus on the intersection between social protection and child protection, identifying possible entry points for greater synergies.

    General Budget Support in Ghana has been provided since 2003 through a harmonised Multi-Donor Budget Support arrangement. The evaluation team assessed what impact this

    process has had, utilising the enhanced evaluation framework for budget support, developed under the OECD-DAC’s seven country evaluation of budget support.

    growth is critical for accelerating poverty reduction, but income inequality also affects the pace at which growth translates into gains for the poor. 
    At this ODI and World Bank event, Louise Cord presented insights from eight countries that have been relatively successful in delivering pro-poor growth: Bangladesh, Brazil, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Tunisia, Uganda and Vietnam.

  6. Multilateral Donor Agency Effectiveness: Country Level Perceptions

    The aims of this project are to: build a better understanding of the performance of MOs amongst decision-makers, parliamentarians and other key stakeholders both in donor and recipient countries; develop a better informed dialogue between MOs and DfID staff at headquarters and country level; develop a better informed dialogue between MOs and key stakeholders in-country; improve the performance of MOs at the country level.
