This event launches a new report into how aid agencies engage with the Taliban to gain access to Afghans in need of assistance. It offers a valuable and rare insight into how the Taliban view humanitarian and development assistance. The report draws on dozens of interviews with Taliban militia and leaders and conversely, investigates the approaches used by aid agencies to gain access to populations in Taliban-held territory.
The Dhaka Colloquium on Systematic Reviews in International Development brings together leading researchers in the field of systematic reviews and policymakers from Asia and beyond to address issues of comprehensive systemic reviews in international development. Maren Duvendack will lead a session on "Assessing 'what works' in International Development: meta-analysis for sophisticated dummies."
This week represents a milestone for the Humanitarian Policy Group following the launch in Beijing of ‘Crisis, Recovery and Transitions’, a course targeted at mid-level and senior career professionals from the humanitarian and development sector.
