    Enthusiasm for budget support has waned. Last year four major bilateral budget support donors (the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden) signalled plans to slash their allocations for general budget support – a trend fuelled by dissatisfaction with its assessed impact. However, Friday’s Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) report on the ‘management of UK budget support operations’ paints a more optimistic picture.

    Climate Public Expenditure and Institutional Reviews (CPEIR) in South-East Asia

    Performing Climate Public Expenditure and Institutional Reviews (CPEIR)s in three South-East Asia countries, starting in Thailand, this project will contribute to the development of CPEIR methodologies and increase knowledge on effective national climate finance delivery.

    This paper examines the public financing component of climate change actions in Nepal, including the role played by communities, civil society, the private sector and international support. The objective of the study has been to develop an appropriate methodology and then conduct an exploratory Climate Public Expenditure and Institutional Review (CPEIR), at both the national and local level.

    Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan

    Event - Conference - 29 November - 1 December 2011

    Ministers from across the globe, from both developing and donor countries, government representatives, parliamentarians, civil society organisations and private sector representatives have come together for the Fourth High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, Korea, from 29 November to 1 December 2011.

    ODI has produced a range of inputs of relevance to HLF-4, to inform debates and reflect on the challenges and opportunities for policy-makers and the development community. The Busan meeting follows previous conferences in Accra and Paris. These meetings delivered the Accra Agenda for Action and the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. 

    We are also producing short audio commentaries throughout the conference.
