This side event will provide a forum for dialogue on current efforts to develop and operationalize the Green Climate Fund with a special focus on Africa. Donors, civil society and government officials will discuss their respective past experience with convention funds and provide concrete recommendations.
This session will focus on how to ensure that climate finance acheives a transformative impact. Lessons will; be drawn from Germany's Durban climate finance pledge to support initial GCF related activities in developing countries.
This roundtable discussion explored efforts to strengthen “readiness” to climate finance. This small expert meeting will presented a forum for a candid dialogue on various efforts to strengthen capacities to plan for climate change, and access finance to implement climate compatible development strategies.
