John is a Senior Research Associate who has worked within the international humanitarian sector for 30 years in a variety of operational, evaluation, research and capacity development roles.
For the last year he has been part of the HPG’s Global History of Humanitarian Action team and has a particular interest in making the history of humanitarian action more accessible to humanitarian workers.
Clare is the Communications Officer for the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG). Before joining HPG, Clare held communications positions with the Australian agency for international development (AusAID) in Indonesia and The World Bank in Mongolia.
Irina has experience in humanitarian and development programming as well as research in conflict and post-conflict settings. Prior to joining HPG, Irina worked for several NGOs and civil society organisations in South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda and Pakistan.
Joel is the interim PA to Sara Pantuliano. He has an a MA in Social Anthropology of Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, with a particular interest in protection. Joel has also worked in a research capacity for HPG.
Adele is a Humanitarian Policy Group Research Associate based in Kampala, Uganda and a partner with Humanitarian Outcomes. Her work has focused on humanitarian financing and institutional reform, and security of aid operations. She has previously worked for the Australian Government’s international aid agency (AusAID) and with the Australian Defence Force as a civilian peace monitor.
