    She's a cinema buff, loves cooking for friends and she's a keen cross-country skier.

    Julian is a Project Officer for the Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure (CAPE). He is responsible for providing administrative and financial project management support to the Budget Strengthening Initiative (BSI), which seeks to improve public finances and the budget process in fragile and conflict-affected states.

    Julian has experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Before joining ODI he worked for Save the Children in Haiti where he coordinated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes and led Monitoring and Evaluation studies. Prior to working at Save the Children he spent three years working in project management for various civil engineering consultancies and local government.

    Julian volunteered as a teacher in Zambia in 2007 and has a degree in Civil, Structural, Environmental and Transport Engineering from Trinity College Dublin. His final year thesis focused on efforts to relieve water scarcity through local water use efficiency, water allocation efficiency and global water use efficiency.

    Away from work, Julian is an experienced sailing instructor and enjoys photography.
