Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) Briefing Notes present detailed notes from HPG studies.

HPG has established a strong record in carrying out large-scale and complex evaluations. These provide a valuable 'point of entry' for HPG's work in understanding and influencing humanitarian policy and practice. In turn, this ensures that the group's work is strongly rooted in field experience, and that the evaluation process is informed by research and other studies carried out by HPG.

Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) Discussion Papers present case studies or background notes which support key aspects of the Group's research projects.

Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) Policy Briefs are short papers which contain key points and policy recommendations. Some complement or summarise our reports, while others combine analysis from previous research with consultation around a live policy issue or crisis situation.

HPG Reports present the detailed findings of major research projects. They are complemented by shorter papers (HPG Policy Briefs) which contain their key points and policy recommendations.

Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) Working Papers present case studies or background notes which support key aspects of the Group's research projects.

The ODI Annual Report is an important publication for the Institute. Like all organisations, we have a statutory obligation to report on our financial situation each year. We use this opportunity to summarise our main achievements and to outline plans for the year ahead. The ODI Annual Report provides essential information for current and potential donors, and is the Institute's 'calling card' for anyone who is not yet familiar with our work.

ODI Background Notes provide provide a summary or snapshot of an issue or of an area of ODI work in progress.

ODI Briefing Papers present information, analysis and key policy recommendations on important development and humanitarian topics.

Business and Development Performance Briefing Notes discuss issues which affect the development impact of business, and looks at how economic incentives can be created for firms to improve their development impact – moving beyond Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

In Februrary 2002, ODI produced a number of briefings looking at food security and the world food situation. They contained the results of ODI research presented in preliminary form for discussion and critical comment.

ODI Forestry Briefings discuss issues of current forest policy interest. They are targeted at a wide audience of policy makers, researchers and practitioners.

A series of Briefing Papers produced for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) by the Economists’ Resource Centre (ERC).

ODI Natural Resource Perspectives present accessible information on current development issues and are sent to a wide audience of policy makers, researchers and people working in the non-governmental sector. The series ran from 1994 to 2008.

The ODI Poverty Briefings series summarised contemporary debate, insights and experience on ways of more effectively reaching and benefiting the poor. They covered new thinking on and recent experience of poverty reduction measures and emerging approaches to poverty alleviation by donor agencies as well as natural resource, finance and trade aspects.

ODI Project Briefings provide a focused and specialised summary of a project, a country study or regional analysis

These papers aim to improve understanding of the processes of poverty reduction and pro-poor growth in the contemporary global context, and of the design and implementation of policies that promote these objectives.

ODI Toolkits provide practical tips, tools and guidance for development practitioners and activists.

Water Policy Briefs summarise important water resource policy issues.

Wildlife Policy Briefings cover the development policy dimensions of wildlife management issues. They are targeted at a wide audience of policy makers, researchers and practitioners.
