ODI research areas

Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG)

  • The Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) is one of the world's leading teams of independent researchers and information professionals working on humanitarian issues. It is dedicated to improving humanitarian policy and practice through a combination of high-quality analysis, dialogue and debate.

International Economic Development Group (IEDG)

  • IEDG research extends beyond economic analysis to include policy advice to developing countries and to the UK Department for International Development, the European Commission and Parliament, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization. The team works with other economists in Europe and in developing countries. Projects range from multi-year multi-country comparative analyses to studies that answer immediate policy questions.

Poverty and Public Policy Group (PPPG)

Research and Policy in Development (RAPID)

  • RAPID aims to improve the use of research and evidence in development policy and practice through research, advice and debate. In particular, it looks at how policy-makers can best use research, for evidence-based policy-making;how researchers can best use their findings in order to influence policy; and how to improve the interaction between researchers and policy-makers.
