Knowledge management an instrument for
successfully mastering processes of change
Abstract: Four hundred years ago, an English scientist and philosopher,
Francis Bacon, coined the phrase Knowledge is power,
a maxim which has remained applicable to this day. This, then as
now, astute perception has grown in relevance in view of what is
becoming an ever more complicated world, with accelerating processes
of change in all fields of knowledge. The transfer of knowledge
as an institutionally anchored ability to utilise human resources
therefore needs to be a firm and compulsory part of corporate culture.
The competitive edge thereby achieved determines the necessary speed
of change and thus the striven-for corporate success over the long
term.
