Social protection can play a crucial role in supporting particular social groups, thereby reducing gender inequality and the inter-generational transmission of poverty.  Our current work seeks to improve the understanding of the specific nature of economic and social vulnerability among these groups to enable better policy and programme design and support better targeting.
