Whilst chronic hunger and vulnerability suggests the need for long-term programmes, social protection also has a critical role to play in emergencies. We provide support to humanitarian agencies in the design, implementation and evaluation of projects – mainly those delivering food and cash transfers. Emerging work under this theme includes the use of social protection instruments to mitigate the impacts of climate change and during protracted crises.
