This is the eleventh Integrated Programme (IP) of work proposed for funding by the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG). The projects constitute the core of HPG’s research work in 2013–15, combining policy-relevant research and engagement, humanitarian practice, academic engagement and a vigorous and extensive public affairs programme of events, conferences and media work.

Assessment of the evidence of links between gender equality, statebuillding and peacebuilding

Projects - February 2013 to October 2013
This project will assess the evidence of links between gender equality, statebuillding and peacebuilding drawing previous research into this area together to provide a baseline against which to move forward both in policy and research. It will also develop a policy approach and theory of change for the inclusion of gender within peacebuilding statebuilding. This work will inform DFID’s longer-term, more detailed research on this area as well as provide the analytical basis for current policy development and immediate programming.

Groundwater resources in the Indo-Gangetic basin

The overall objective of this work is to provide an authoritative overview of the occurrence and status of groundwater resources in the Indo-Gangetic Basin (IGB) and to strengthen the evidence base linking groundwater, climate population and abstraction – collating and systemising existing data for policy and national planning and future research programmes.

MY World

Projects - January 2013 to August 2015
What is it that people most want in life? The answers are to be found in the United Nations MY World survey, brainchild of Claire Melamed, Head of ODI’s Growth, Poverty and Inequality Programme, and Paul Ladd, Senior Advisor and Head of Post-2015 at UNDP. MY World captures people’s voices, priorities and views, so that global leaders can be informed as they begin the process of defining the new development agenda for the world. More than 1 million people have participated so far, making this one of the biggest surveys ever carried out.

Climate risk screening for rural water supply in Ethiopia

Projects - December 2012 to April 2013
The aim of this project is to develop a risk assessment methodology that can be used to assess the threat posed by climate change on rural water supplies, and suggest steps to minimise or mitigate such risks.
