About Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure
The ODI Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure helps to shape and drive the agenda for international development assistance, as well as efficient and effective public spending for development at country level.
Our recent focus has been addressing how the international financial system needs to be adapted to tackle financial instability in donor and developing countries, and how to better address demands for climate change financing. In addition, we aim to improve understanding of how aid effectiveness and public finance management principles can be applied, in fragile states and emergency situations.

We have a strong reputation for using a range of analytical and methodological tools to understand, and respond to, development initiatives in aid and public expenditure.
Evaluation and assessment
We use our knowledge of aid initiatives to support partner countries and donors in improving the quality of policy-making in international development.

We provide practical and innovative advice to policy-makers around the world, including technical assistance to governments and strategic advice to donors.

We work to disseminate research findings widely; to engage in international debates and thinking; and to provide and participate in training programmes.
