The ODI's Protected Livelihoods and Agricultural Growth (PLAG) Programme focuses on how to deliver policies for livelihood improvement in rural communities.

Our Research Areas

The programme aims to take forward policy debates in four complementary research areas:

Our work in these areas covers a number of more specific topics, including rural employment and labour markets, migration, agricultural technology and extension and the roles of Ministries and regulations and aid in rural development. We also work closely with the ODI Water Policy Programme, Forest Policy and Environment Programme and Tourism Programme.
