Meeting between staff of RiPPLE, a major ODI-led project, and the local health bureau in Ethiopia. Source: RiPPLE
ODI is Britain’s leading independent think-tank on international development and humanitarian policy. Founded in 1960, it has made major contributions to research, dissemination and policy change, on all aspects of development and humanitarian policy.
The Institute has a staff of around 120, half of whom are researchers and half providing a wide range of support services.
ODI is seeking an administrative assistant to support its Humanitarian Policy Group. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter, who is willing to undertake a large volume of routine administrative work, in a stimulating environment. You will play a key role in a small team providing administrative and secretarial support to the Group. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of a range of manual and computerised systems, arranging conference and flight bookings, preparing agendas and taking minutes of meetings.
You must be an excellent communicator with previous administrative experience and good IT skills, including knowledge of Windows applications. You must also be able to use your own initiative to prioritise your work effectively, be numerate and pay attention to detail.
