Event - Workshop - 3 - 4 April 2007

This workshop, facilitated by the ODI's Naved Chowdhury and Fletcher Tembo, provided a useful platform for sharing experiences about the CSO policy context in Southern Africa, and how they have used different approaches to policy influence. It also contributed to a deeper understanding of how to bridge the gap between policy and research.

Understanding and addressing spatial poverty traps

The workshop aimed to consolidate lessons from recent analytical work on the drivers of poverty and chronic poverty in 'spatial poverty traps' and to review experience from government and civil society policy experiments in such areas.

Policy Influence Capacity Building Workshop

Event - Workshop - 12 - 16 February 2007

Participants representing 13 CSOs from different Latin American countries exchanged knowledge, practical experiences, tools and methodologies related to policy influence. They also developed potential national and regional strategies to share this knowledge with other members of the Latin American network within the Civil Society Partnerships Programme.

Bridging Research, Policy and Practice, Australia
