Recent lessons from evaluations on budget support

The purpose of this session was to showcase and discuss some of the recent research work that has been carried out on budget support. The meeting  touched on the current OECD/DAC sponsored budget support evaluations that are taking place in Mali, Tunisia, and Zambia. It will cover issues related to new evaluation methodologies, policy implications – responding to emerging or familiar unresolved questions such as the role of conditionality and the right objectives of budget support - and outstanding evidence gaps.

Long-term research perspectives on budget support

Reassessing the Social Institutions and Gender Index (SIGI): Where next?

This joint ODI and OECD Development Centre workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss the concept of social institutions and identify the areas where more research and analysis is needed. The outcome would be a roadmap for reassessing SIGI over the next year, with a view to strengthening the conceptual and methodological basis of the index and feeding into the national piloting process.

European Think-Tanks 'bootcamp'
