An IDS, IIED and ODI Series

Development Horizons: Future Directions for Research and Policy

IDS

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) co-hosted a series of jointly hosted public meetings which examined current and future directions for research and policy in six key areas of development.

IIED

Work in various forms is being carried out on all six themes by all three institutes. One institute ‘led’ each meeting, providing a speaker who presented both on current institutional research in that area, and gave some thoughts for future directions.

This was followed by comments from discussants from each of the other two institutes, who responded with reference both to their own research, as well as their thoughts for the future.
