Globalisation: The true story

17 October - 28 November 2001 00:00-23:59 (GMT+00) - Public events series

  • Globalisation is the most hotly-debated issue of our time. Tempers run high. Blood has been spilt. The development community is divided. There is no resolution in sight. Are we rushing headlong towards catastrophe, driven by the voracious profit-seeking of multinational corporations? Will we destroy the environment, wreck local cultures and disempower the poor? Or are we beginning to build a new world order, based on liberal values and free exchange - and in so doing, strengthening democracy and reducing poverty?
  • A public events series.
