This is the first Forum of the Standing Committee on Finance. This conference will be focused on the theme of mobilising finance and investments for climate action now. Smita Nakhooda is contributing to a session on financing and investment drivers for adaptation activities.
The Standing Committee assists the Convention Of the Parties (COP) in exercising its functions in relation to the financial mechanism of the Convention. This involves improving coherence and coordination in the delivery of climate change financing, rationalisation of the financial mechanism, mobilisation of financial resources and measurement, reporting and verification of support provided to developing country Parties.
It has been mandated to organise a forum for the communication and continued exchange of information among bodies and entities dealing with climate change finance in order to promote linkages and coherence.
