This roundtable with Chief Alan Kyerematen, former Minister of Trade and Industry, Ghana, following his address to the UK Parliament, focused on how developing countries can best trade themselves out of poverty, and the role of policy in facilitating this.

The event was centred on sub-Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on Ghana. It aimed to address the full range of constraints to improved exports for growth, productivity and poverty reduction.

The roundtable included participants from academia, NGOs, ODI and the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the Ghanaian High Commission.
