With many drivers of deforestation outside the forest sector, cross-sectoralcoordination is needed to effectively deliver REDD+. The discussion will be framed by a paper recently published by ODI that uses the case of Uganda to analyse how key political economy features affect sector coordination. Meeting report now available.

With participants from different governments and NGOs this discussion considered:

  • The challenges of sector coordination between sectors and between different governance levels
  • Experiences and opportunities for strengthening sector coordination
  • The potential role of REDD+ as a catalyst for strengthening sector coordination
