Food, fuel and finance: assessing the impacts of the Triple F crisis in Nigeria

Projects - November 2010 to November 2011
This project examined the effects of the Food, Fuel and Finance (Triple F) crises in Nigeria with a particular focus on women and children. Combining both quantitative and qualitative research techniques, the project analysed the transmission channels of these effects from the international level through to the household and individual level in order to understand impacts on the most vulnerable, as well as of coping mechanisms employed in response.

Impediments to intra-regional trade in sub-Saharan Africa

This analysis sets out to explore the extent to which intra-regional trade flows for African regional economic communities (RECs) are constrained by non-tariff barriers (NTBs). Based on the results of a quantitative assessment of the identified impacts of NTBs on intra-regional trade, the report suggests policy measures and steps towards addressing them.
