Heidi Tavakoli

Heidi Tavakoli is a Research Fellow within CAPE. Her work relates to public financial management (PFM), aid modalities and the aid effectiveness agenda. Since joining ODI her projects have included supporting and analysing PFM reform in fragile states, assessing the net benefits of aid instruments and developing an instrument in South Sudan, and assessing the performance of countries against the Paris Declaration indicators. Prior to ODI she worked as a consultant in the Social Policy Programme at Oxford Policy Management and before that she spent two years as an ODI fellow in the Ministry of Education, Namibia.

From the rise of China and Brazil to game changing models of global philanthropy, person-to-person giving and social impact investment, the community of actors engaged in development cooperation is evolving. While the geography of poverty is changing so too are the tools available for targeting assistance. The 2012 CAPE Conference will explore how fundamental global shifts will shape the future of development cooperation.
