Vikki Chambers has a particular interest in governance and neo-patrimonialism with a regional focus on sub-Saharan Africa. She is a member of the ‘Africa Power and Politics Programme’ (APPP) which aims to identify forms of governance that work better for development and poverty reduction. She currently contributes to the APPP’s local governance and leadership research stream, which aims to generate propositions about how governance arrangements determine the ability of local administrative areas to deal with challenges faced in the provision of public goods.
