Project Manager (DEGP Directorate), Research and Policy in Development
Cecilia joined ODI in 2005, providing administrative and program support to the RAPID group. Since 2008 her main responsibility is to facilitate the Evidence-based Policy in Development Network. As such she coordinates activites, communicate with members, moderate the network's online discussion and provides support to the regional chapters of the network. Cecilia is also involved in the three year long project Innovation Africa, which aims to influence local food security plans.

The Department for International Development (DFID) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Growth Research Programme  seeks to generate high quality evidence on economic growth in low income countries.

The first call for proposals focused on three core areas:

AusAID research for policy change

Projects - June 2011 to May 2013

This project aims to help facilitate greater cross-fertilisation of ideas, information and practical lessons between Overseas Development Institute, the Australian Government Overseas Aid Programme (AusAID) and key AusAID development partners.

This project will strengthen RAPID programme's research for policy change in Southeast Asia and the Pacific region. It will also contribute to a research program on support for social inclusion and social protection in the informal economy and of vulnerable groups.

Innovation Africa: regional training workshop

Event - Workshop - 9 - 13 August 2010

Led by Ajoy Datta and Cecilia Oppenheim, this workshop aimed to raise awareness amongst project participants of the key concepts of the project, what partners had to offer to the project, how to facilitate multi-stakeholder processes and how to develop policy engagement plans.

Specific objective: The capacities of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in five African countries are enhanced to contribute effectively to local and national food security policy formulation which recognise and capitalise on the potential of pro-poor and local innovations.
