Beatrice holds an MSc in International Relations with a specialisation in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (Switzerland), and a BSc in Development Studies (HEID)from the University of Pavia (Italy). She is currently enrolled in the last year of a PhD in Political Science at the HEID, investigating issues related to climate change adaptation in the water sector (in the case areas of Northern Italy and Kyrgyzstan). Prior to working at ODI, Beatrice was a Visiting Research Student at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the LSE, as well as at the Social Research Centre at the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). She has also worked as a Research Associate for the EU-funded project ACQWA (FP7), and as a Research Assistant at the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), focusing on the integration of gender into security sector reform. More broadly, Beatrice has research interests in climate compatible development, water governance, and gender.
