Programme Officer, Climate and Environment
Emma is a Programme/Research Officer working within ODI’s Adaptation and Resilience Team in the Climate and Environment Programme. Her areas of interest include: disaster risk reduction, climate change and resilience. She also has responsibility for project budgets, reporting, contracts and project oversight in this area.

Before working at ODI, Emma spent two years working in Bangkok, Thailand - where she has had extensive experience of working on climate change adapation, disaster risk management and development issues within the Asia-Pacific Region; working with the International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Crescent (IFRC), the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific (UNESCAP).

Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction

Event - Conference - 20 - 23 May 2013

The Fourth Session of the Global Platform for Disaster risk Reduction aims to continue the momentum of the prior Global Platform meetings, into a durable and sustained effort from all actors (governments, NGOs and civil society, international agencies and organizations, academic and technical institutions, and the private sector) to take shared responsibility in reducing risks and reinforcing resilience in our communities. The Fourth Session will also be an opportunity to progress and consult on the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA). ODI researchers are speaking at different events during the conference.
