Workshop 3, Friday 17th November - Ways
in which local content reaches policy makers throughout the
information chain
Overview
This workshop will provide a forum to discuss local content
management and how its influence on policy can be enhanced.
Through group discussions, participants will exchange experiences
with the objective of suggesting a number of recommendations
on how local content management can be improved to ensure
higher influence on policy.
At the end of this workshop participants will:
- have a better understanding of how content is managed
within other institutions and countries;
- have identified different tools and methodologies for
improving content management and promotion;
- have identified a number of recommendations for improving
content management and influence.
Process
There will be a short presentation followed by group discussions
and feedback. The session is being facilitated by INASP (Sara
Gwynn and Pippa Smart).
Preparatory work by participants
Participants are encouraged to consider how their own institution(s)
manage local research content, and initiatives and tools of
which they have experience and knowledge.
