ODI's Forum for Food Security in Southern Africa programme provides
a forum for all relevant stakeholders to discuss the medium to long
term causes of apparent increased vulnerability to food insecurity
in Southern Africa, and to generate policy options. It covers the
region as a whole and five specific countries: Lesotho, Malawi,
Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It intends to bring together ideas
from those in government, official donors, NGOs, and researchers
concerned with food security. The purpose of the Forum for Food
Security in Southern Africa project is to improve linkages between
food security analysis, policy making and implementation. The outputs
of country papers, thematic essays, e-discussions and policy seminars
will generate insights and policy options that will prove useful
to stakeholders.
RAPID is providing advice on information strategy, along with the
design and management of the project website and management of moderated
e-conferences in June 2003, on a range of topics representing key
policy choices for rural growth and poverty alleviation in Southern
Africa. Click on the link below for more information.
