ODI was contracted to coordinate the first year of implementation
of the 3 year Global Development Network Bridging Research
and Policy Project. The project explored research-policy linkages
through surveys, case-studies and workshops and developed
simple tools to help both researchers and policy makers contribute
more effectively to improved evidence-based development policies.
A key activity during the first year was the collection and
analysis of 50 preliminary
case studies of existing experience. ODI was then asked
to develop the research framework for the second phase, and
subsequently to help to coordinate the second phase in collaboration
with the Economics Education
and Research Consortium, Moscow, GDN's Hub for Russia
and the CIS Countries.
