Tammie O'Neil
Tammie O’Neil is a Research Officer in the Politics and Rights Cluster of the Poverty and Public Policy Group. She has a MA in International Relations from the University of Warwick.
Tammie’s current interests include politics, governance and state-building in sub-Saharan Africa, in particular the influence and dynamics of informal institutions and political accountability. She is currently involved in projects on neopatrimonialism and corruption as part of a 2-year research project on governance and aid modalities.
Tammie has also been involved in the development of the ODI Rights in Action programme. Her interests have included rights-based approaches to development and issues relating to discrimination and exclusion. She has recently been involved in a series of think pieces on human rights and aid effectiveness. She was part of a team examining donor experiences with integrating human rights into their work for OECD DAC Network on Governance and was involved in the 2005 ODI meeting series on Human Rights and Poverty Reduction, including editing the outcome publication.
