Ruth Driscoll
Ruth Driscoll is a Research Fellow with the Poverty and Public Policy Group specialising in the links between aid, donor behaviour and the political economy of poor countries. Formerly a Special Adviser to Clare Short MP, UK Secretary of State for International Development, she also has a Masters degree in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries from the London School of Economics. Prior to working for the British government, she led the UK parliamentary and advocacy programme of UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund.
Ruth's time at ODI has included a year as principal researcher on the PRSP Monitoring and Synthesis Project, advising the UK Department for International Development on how to strengthen its engagement with Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRSP) and national development processes at country level. More recently, she has specialised in research and consultancy projects examining donor behaviour, aid effectiveness and monitoring and evaluation, with a particular focus on Africa .
