HIV/AIDS in Emergencies - Development of a Conceptual Framework.
ODI is carrying out a study to develop a better understanding of emergency settings and how they impact on HIV/AIDS. The first part involves a literature review which will be followed by 5 case studies of countries facing different kinds of emergencies including fast-onset natural disaster, slow-onset natural disaster and conflict/post-conflict: Haiti, Sri-Lanka, Mozambique, CAR and Kenya. This meeting is to present findings from the literature review and to get feedback before the field work begins.

Understanding and Addressing Spatial Poverty Traps
This international workshop drew together four main audiences: researchers; civil society organisations; donor organisations and southern Governments. Its aim was to consolidate lessons from recent analytical work on the drivers of poverty and chronic poverty in ‘spatial poverty traps’ and to review experience from government and civil society policy experiments in such areas.
